Mathea
Mathea's love for animals has always been paramount. From a very young age Mathea helped out on her family's farm. She was constantly adopting and caring for stray animals. Eventually she would graduate from Cornell University with a degree in Animal Science. In 2002, in pursuit of her passion for horses and the equine industry Mathea moved to "The Horse Capital of the World" Lexington, Kentucky.
" Living where I do, surrounded by horses in a beautiful countryside, I have been able to combine my love of animals with another passion, photography. For the past six years I have been employed by Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington. I have recently decided to devote more of my life to full time photography. " - Mathea
Mathea has a AS Science degree from Alfred University/Alfred State College and a BS Animal Science degree from Cornell University. She attended graduate school at the University of Kentucky. When Mathea is not taking photographs she also enjoys kayaking, traveling, going to wine tasting's and observing any art work she can find.
In summer of 2008 Mathea traveled to Colorado to photograph sights of interest, wild horses and rodeos and the Travers Stakes at Saratoga Race Track in Saratoga Springs, NY. Mathea is getting ready for the rest of the fall sales in Lexington, the Keeneland Fall Racing meet, and the Breeders Cup in CA.
